Origins of Table Service

In the mid 70's two people went to America and brought back a new concept with the new self service "Supermarket" model. They launched it and called it ASDA.
In a few years petrol stations were following suit and in the early 90's London Underground went the Automated Ticket route.

However even now, food establishments are still operating the same Table Service template with Waiters/Waitresses, as they did 100 years ago.
We have seen changes in names, restaurant fronts, new menus, new websites etc, but not any changes in the main system of the business operation.

Basically the source of bottlenecks in food establishments is the Table Service staff and the Kitchen. Not their fault and by and large they do a great job, but they do get overloaded and sometimes can't always respond to requests from customers. Basically then customers get ignored, have to wait, or are put in a queue.

So remove the Table staff from all tasks except Delivering Food and Taking Bill Payments and throttling the kitchen orders and your food establishment will start to take off.

The U.S.P. of the Table Service web application is not just automating the ordering and delivery of food, but as most restaurant owners have only the basics of business skills and very few have accountancy skills, then the Table Service app provides a win situation for the customer and the tools needed by the business.
